Imperial College London: Centre for Academic English

The previous Centre for Academic English (CfAE) brand had been in place for nine years. Formed of a series of cogs representing the neural process of thinking and the department being a cog in the machine of learning; it captured their offer but felt a little tired. How could we retain an essence of this whilst moving things on?

The solution was to simplify the cogs into a series of rings that could be used in abstract ways, allowing the brand to extend across all design touch points, add personality and utilise the written word – essential to how they support students.
