Suffolk Libraries: a brand worth bookmarking

This brand for Suffolk Libraries uses a modern mark to echo the library’s heritage.

The independent charity runs the service for the local council and produces a huge amount of collateral often created by non-designers. So the new logo needed to be strong and simple enough to stand out from the visual noise. And this is what it does – always positioned, like a bookmark – to poke out of the image below.

In addition to the brand I also created the ‘Become a Borrower’ advertising campaign and slogan. To entice commuters to sign up for a library card to access their ever expanding eLibrary offer – and to borrow rather than buy. The promotion consisted of posters, flyers and social media graphics; with new borrowers receiving an ‘I’m a Borrower’ library card and canvas bag to help to literally ‘spread the word’.
