King’s Head: A 21st century mark to reflect a 16th century heritage
The origins of the King’s Head Stutton hark back almost 500 years to the days of Henry VIII. In its modern guise, the establishment is a gastro pub serving real ales and fine food from Suffolk and its neighbours.
Whilst it felt natural to tap into this long and fruitful history in the new brand, we were mindful of the clichéd images of King’s heads. Our extensive research gave us our inspiration for a modern mark built on medieval foundations.
Created from the letters ‘K’, ‘H’ and ‘S’, the distinctive crown monogram reflects merchant marks and stone carved type of the period. This coronet sits proudly above the name, as it would on the head of your king of choice.
The brand extends across various touchpoints including the obligatory pint glass – cheers!
